Software Problem Solver — Productivity Nerd

About Me

I render myself a Generalist — versatile across the SDLC, with depth in Platform Engineering and Data Systems. I build the backends that move data and the infrastructure that runs them.

What I Do

Platform engineering, data systems, cloud infrastructure, developer tooling

What Drives Me

Making complex systems simple and teams more productive

Experience

Software Engineer

Early 2025 - Present

HCLTech/ANZx — Developer Platform / Cloud Networking

  • Own the Networking Controller on GCP — provisioning cloud network policy and enforcing security compliance for 50+ engineering teams.
  • Run controlled disaster-simulation exercises that verify our services correctly exercise GCP's multi-region HA — catching integration gaps so the platform's 99.999% SLA translates into real availability for us, not just on paper.
  • Design and roll out the CloudRun Git-volume-mount pattern — migrating ~80 services onto a simpler, image-build-free deployment workflow.

Software Engineer

Late 2024 - Early 2025

Endash/Cigro — Data Platform

  • Shipped monitoring as a first-class product feature — subscriptions, alerting, task orchestration — answering the top user request and shifting customers from passively viewing dashboards to actively engaging with their data.
  • Cut user-reported bugs ~80% by tightening the development workflow and refactoring internal hotspots.
  • Cut infrastructure cost ~14% (with improved uptime) by executing a cross-vendor platform migration.

Technical Leader / Data Platform Engineer

Late 2021 - Late 2024

PrimeData — Customer Data Platform

  • Architected the Data Integration Platform behind client onboarding at scale — a 4-engineer team onboarded 4 customers, each with hundreds of pipelines and millions of events/day, built on a ~300-connector catalogue (~20 actively used, mostly databases and vendor APIs).
  • Cut customer data error rates from 30% to 4% by designing an event-driven system that automatically detects and self-corrects ingestion errors.
  • Designed and shipped a custom query engine (Query Builder + storage models) that delivered sub-second P90 responses against hundreds-of-millions to billions of records — the backend core of the platform's analytics.
  • Extended the platform with Kubernetes-based Transformation Plugins and security hardening — enabling white-label deployments and customer-configured integrations without ops in the critical path.
  • Raised test coverage from ~30% to ~75% and put infrastructure under GitOps — introduced schema testing in GitHub Actions, materially reducing user-reported bugs.
  • Led the engineering delivery (peak team of 5) through heavy coordination load — sustaining in-day support and 1-2 month client onboarding SLAs as the customer base grew.

Business Analyst & Software Engineer

Early 2020 - Late 2021

DXC Technology — Insurance Platform

  • Translated premium-calculation policy directly into production algorithms across 5 enterprise insurance projects — a dual business-analyst / engineer role with no handoff between spec and implementation.
